The 2008 window displays from Bloomingdales Department Store in New York City were donated to the National Christmas Center fall 2009 by the artist who created them, Vicki Khuzami. The windows depict Christmas in the 1950's set to Tony Bennett's songs from 2008 Christmas album, A Swingin' Christmas. Featured songs are; Jingle Bells, Christmas Time is Here, and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. Ms Khuzami hired a team of 8 artists and together they hand painted every detail of the 1950's American Christmas from shopping, cooking holiday feasts, cocktail parties and children sledding in Central Park to the tiniest details of toys, fashion and home decor.
"I researched for 9 months to find the perfect home for the displays. I am so happy to have found Jim Morrison, Christmas Historian, and his amazing National Christmas Center which is dedicated to the true and loving spirit of Christmas."
The scenes were replicated by the National Christmas Center in the Elizabeth Farms Santa’s Barn complex.
